Hi Lizzie
What kind of camera are you using as the detail here is so good and from another mac user what are you using for editing software?

Hi Stephen,
I use a Canon EOS digital SLR and with that particular photograph used a 70-300 mm zoom lens in Macro mode. The lens is generic which is a lot cheaper than a genuine Canon. If you can afford it believe the Canon lens are superior but I use a Tamron. I love this Camera.....I did not put any Canon software that came with the camera to the Apple it just figures it out itself.
Editing
software on the Mac I have not used anything but the editing programme that comes with the Leopard iPhotos which is inbuilt. I then upload the photographs from iPhotos to Flickr and then tweak with the editing programme on Flickr called Picnic which is free. Flickr is free but can upgrade in Picnic and Flickr for a price and receiver a superior editing tool for twenty four dollars which I have not done as yet and presently am using all the freeware. I will investigate which graphics programme I should install to do more in the art line later on. I am very pleased with the flickr account which I am using the free version of and have not upgraded yet but will in the near future. Can post in a blink of an eye a photograph from Flickr to Blogger. Awesome ...I am not that good at explaining and should you need any clarification please let me know......Regards, Elizabeth

Hi Lizzie
Thanks for this answer, I assume that you are fairly new to the mac world just by a couple of things you have said. I have been using macs for eight years now, I have had 2 good ones both imacs ( the current one is getting a little old now its a late 2005)and two bad ones an ibook and an emac.
I sugest that you try the editing tools in iphoto as for most photographers it is all you will need. I have been using it since version one. If would like a extremely powerful free editing tool then gimp.Like photoshop it has a high learning curve and like photoshop it has scared me off for this reason.
Flickr sound interesting.
I am on my second digital camera and is good but no where near my Canon AE1 which i got in 1977 and used till 2002. only ever had one canon lens and that was the 50mm that came with the camera.
I have no problem uploading from my imac to bloger but i have given up on bigblog and do it from my windows laptop.
Keep the picture's coming there very good.
Thanks Stephen
