BACK IN THE SADDLE AGAIN

Ha ha...I have decided that my leg has repaired enough to open up my business of training horses again. I will stay away from the racehorses and educating out of the starting gates, he he for a few years at least.

I am clocking up about 20 ks per day at the present on the Arabians and am enjoying myself to the maximum. My children are resigned to the knowledge that I am ageing disgracefully.

This is me two years ago recovering from my knee operation doing a little less physical ie joined the Pony Club and competed as a Senior .....people shaking their heads in the background..Is she really going through a second childhood. Not content to recover in Pony Club pursuits decided to be a silly bugger and dress up in the fantasy theme and shoot everyone in the parade with a cap gun and chased my son on the footpath of the pub on my horse "Would you please go home Mum" and "No" do not overindulge in alcohol.

You sound like a fun senior to have around. Good luck to you and I hope you can keep up with the work.
I love the pic of your grandson on the pony. What program do you use to make the background blurry?

Hi Diane,
I upload to Flickr at Yahoo....select the photograph, once they have been uploaded to Flickr, select Edit which takes me to a free editing programme called Picnik then go into Create in Picnik and on the little frog icons hit soften and take the two sliders to the maximum, bring what you want back to the original with the tool which will appear..hit the frog again a move the sliders to the maximum and bring the portion you wish to tappear in its original state back to the original with the tool that will pop up again...this is getting quite sexual ha ha...I have regressed as have been determined no smut.. too easy but there you go. I may delete the smut reference....If you open an account with Flickr you may store your photographs ..I use the free site which is 100 mg per month. Sounds complicated but once you are using Flickr it will make sense. I will forego all this mucking about when I have saved enough to buy Photoshop which will do the job in a twinkling I am reliably advised but the cost is in the area of one thousand dollars. Phew...Flickr will transfer your photographs to any blog in about two seconds once the url addresses have been filed at Flickr. A great site to use and an interesting site to visit. I have noticed a couple of Brisbane Groups quite active in Flickr. I have published a couple of my photographs in the Abc site largely due to the encouragement from you good people and one photo is the featured wallpaper for July in abc net southern queensland. I guess I signed over the rights to abc but am so pleased it has been used.
Cheers Diane, hope have been of some help.....Elizabeth

Hi Elizabeth, (waves to Diane)

I have just this evening scanned in my photos from my riding days in Perth. I've been really thinking about riding again,(Pony Club keep sending me emails), and I visit your blog and SNAP! Here you are riding! It must be a sign.

I had to sign up to a Flickr Pro account, as I had no storage at the Pond. It's only $24 US per year (same as the $A now anyway), and it's unlimited uploads.

I'm taking the Photoshop module at Uni next semester, so will be happy to pass on any knowledge I glean. I'm not as fast as the young ones, who soak it up in a wink!

Elizabeth, have you really been picked up by the ABC for your photography? That's amazing! You always had the best photos at the Pond. Will you consider coming back to your blog? I know it's a bit of a cesspit at the moment, but hopefully the Good will perservere...

How is the knee holding up? My husband used to love the "Thighs of Steel" that was a result of horseriding. He was in fact a bit scared I think! I worry about injury recovery at my age, my arthritis is something I would have to consider - my hands and wrists might not be up to it.

I found my battered old leather riding gloves on the weekend as well- all these signs....

I'm rabbiting on now, so glad I found your blog.

Warm regards,

Cindy

Hi Cindy, You rabbit on...have you taken a look at some of my comments...I embarrass myself
I have not left Bigpond just can not access my blog site because of some glitch and have to spend time with the technos to see why can not get in...All I can do is change my profile picture. I have the attention span of a peanut and think awww this may take a little time to fix and will think about it tomorrow. I feel is something to do with using the Mac and the PC...I have married them together...probably scrambled their collective cyber brains.
Cindy I had not even been on a horse for months with the Equine Influenza, I do lie, now and then a short jaunt about the paddock, and have been coping well and hope to lose the ten kilos I have managed to accumulate over the past four years of relative inactivity. The photograph of me on the bay in the jumping competition was at my heaviest ever. I will look at it and remind myself I have to do something.
From horseriding my hands are my worst feature with broken fingers not set and lumpy knuckles but they are not hurting. If you get the right horse you will cope very well. I look at my hands and think why have I done this thing and then celebrate the freedom and pure pleasure of seeing and experiencing the sights I have had on horseback.
I do wear gloves now and always wore a hat in the past.
Getting hurt is always a possibility but so is driving a car. My nephew's daughter has been learning to ride over the holidays and she lives at Innisfail and is going back on Thursday. She made amazing progress.
See my comments are the long windiest......I think I should start to blog properly.

Do you have photoshop or does the University supply the programme for students? Let me know what you think of the learning curve. I have apenture 2 from Apple but it does not go the extra yards of Adobe in Photoshop but Apple are working on Plug-ins to compliment the programme but at the present time Photoshop is the el supremo. Reputedly, as I do not have the experience to make any judgements.
What started the bun fight with the pseudo intellectuals over there?
Cheers for now
Elizabeth

Yes, you win the "wordy" trophy!

With regards to your blog, Grotty had the same problem. She had to chnage the name of her blog before she could get it to work again after deleting it. (URL I think). Maybe try that?

I have an old version of photoshop (7), but the uni provides the current CS3 version.

I have taught myself some basic stuff, but it's not the same as having a tutor to answer your questions. I'm looking forward to the module.

All the mud slinging began when THAT man started leving a link to some download of his all over people's blog. No intro, no niceties, just the link. I of course deleted it, saying I did not allow spam on my blog. Boy! Did that unleash the demons! Vitriolic venom - a personal attack on me followed. Now it's spread to Tim and Mandy. I thought that the man may have been decent, and the situation could be resolved, but I am sadly mistaken I think.

Anyway, can't stress over other people's problems. They need to deal with them first.

Cheers,

Cindy

Cindy,
I noticed bad words between gentle warmhearted Jo-anne and Douga as well. Generally people who react badly are not the most emotionally stable and perhaps go through bad patches but is hurtful and uncalled for just the same. This from the mental case patient who has learnt not to let others pull my strings which the head doctors tell me is what is happening when I reacted angrily to someone. The reacting meant they were controlling my emotions so am miss cool or should I say ms cool...for the next ten minutes anyway. Get a grip Elizabeth.

Yes, getting a reaction is what thrills those who thrive on distressing others.

So how do you do it? Stay cool under pressure?

A good friend of mine was also a mental health nurse in Toowoomba. It was the sheer strenght of the patients that scared her.
