MEGAN JONES SILVER MEDALLIST BEIJING

Ms Jones was instructing the local junior squad of potential One Day Event Riders at the local Jump Club in Toowoomba today.

What a fantastic opportunity to have her there. I bet she was surrounded by people with all sorts of questions.

Just watching her would have had me hypnotised. I find myself nodding in time to their strides when I'm really watching intently. Gets quite embarrassing!

Cheers

Cindy,
She was judging these horses and rode each and every one before awarding the sequence of merit. An accurate assessment of her opinion. Then she verbalized her opinion to the spectators whilst mounted on that particular horse.

Should be more of this and if the judge is not capable of riding the animals give a public verbal why she chose one animal over the other. This type of judging is common practise in the cattle judging. Has not been readily accepted in the horse show scene because I believe
(1) Many judges at country ag shows are not capable of explaining why
(2) Many showies are too precious to take honest and constructive criticism.
This is only my humble opinion.
