Gorgeous photo. If that's a Jacaranda tree, it is truly beautiful. We have Jack trees here in this part of Arizona but they do not grow as well as other areas. No humidity here. So when they do bloom, they're a bit sparse to say the least.
It is 12.01 and now is 1st November, Halloween and my birthday...I hope the connection is not too significant.!!
Jacaranda are native to South America and am not sure but believe Mexico?...The trees do really well in south east Queensland and are at their best late Spring which is November in Australia. In south east Queensland in the forests a huge tree fern exists, staghorn and it will self propagate in the Jacaranda in preference to most trees. Quite bizarre.
Yes Diane, our local council used to contribute towards the upkeep of the gardens and with the amalgamation of the smaller councils I guess the large Regional Council would be footing some of the bill,

I think I've been to that station many years ago. Is it the one that isn't used anymore but they keep the gardens going for a tourist attraction?
