Yellow-tailed Black Cockatoo
The limbs come crashing down so have to be careful whilst photographing. Have discovered that the parrots are eating the lavae of a grub in the trees so doing their bit for the balance of nature. Unfortunately are only a once yearly visitors

Beautiful pics of moggie and the cockatoo. I've never heard of a yellow tailed black cockatoo before. We learn every day. Do you use a DSLR camera?
Diane, I use a Canon SLR digital so I guess "yes" to your question. Thank you for the compliments. The yellow tailed blacks are huge and not in plentiful numbers and seem quite reclusive, eye me off and fly away. They only visit once a year. The glossy blacks also visit and eat the nuts from the casuarinas. I have not managed to get close to the glossy blacks which have a huge beak and a yellow patch around the head and a reddish looking under tail feathers. They appear somewhat smaller than the yellow tailed blacks and are endangered I understand.
