Don't you just love it? That's why we're learning to use public transport.

Reminds me of spending twenty months on California freeways a couple years ago. And driving in downtown Los Angeles is no picnic either. LA desperately needs a subway system the likes of New York or Washington DC, but they never will.

Thank goodness we don't have traffic down here like that, well not often anyway. Hope your trip to the city went ok.

Diane, I went into Brisbane today and yesterday and the traffic was so much quieter...perhaps something was going on at the Gabba last week, Cricket maybe? I think if I lived in the city I would give it a whorl.

Lucy,
The road systems going into and out of Brisbane are a little chaotic at the present as billions of dollars are being spent on infrastructure. Tunnels, freeways and bypasses......This area of Queensland I suppose can be a little likened to California with the magnificent surf beaches etc and I have read one thousand people from other parts of Australia and overseas are making this their permanent home to the tune of one thousand a week and over a number of years and hence the now strain on the roads.

Mandy,

I feel Brisbane is becoming busier and busier each time I visit. Used to be quite larconic and now is bustle bustle, through my eyes anyway

Margaret,

Look out ....everyone and his dog to whom I speak wish to live in Tasmania!!!
